Well, if you haven’t heard; let me tell you what IPGA is doing. We have things to tell you so let’s get started.

First the Big news. I hope you will all join me in congratulating John Tibbs on his retirement in May. John dedicated 22 years to the association and has touched the lives of many of us sharing his knowledge. He will be missed.  It’s now time for him to relax and enjoy life.  An invite has been sent out to the membership main offices, an email will go out and it is in this edition. I hope you can join us for his open house on May 6th in Springfield. See the invitation for the details.

Congratulations to Alexis Despain for answering last month’s newsletter question, how many teachers could be hired using the savings from using propane fueled buses? The correct answer was 23,000.  Her name was drawn from the pool of correct answers and she received an ILLINOIS SAVES WITH PROPANE cooler.

After several years off due to covid, The NPGA will once again be hosting PROPANE DAYS in Washington D.C. This will be a chance for people from the Illinois propane industry to travel to Capitol Hill to discuss important topics that affect us with your representatives in Washington. I had the pleasure of participating in the past and highly recommend you take advantage if you can. The association will help by paying $1,500 towards expenses for up to 10 member delegates. If you are interested, read the propane days letter in this edition and get registered.  We will be sending out an email as a reminder nest week.

Our Intern program rolls out this month. I hope many of you take advantage of this opportunity. This is a great program to introduce young people to what the propane industry has to offer. If you need help finding an intern possibly reach out to your high school guidance counselor in your area or take advantage of posting an internship on the GeneratioNext site. If you need help getting set up on their site reach out and we’ll get you in touch with Michelle and she can get you started. GeneratioNext is a great resource to post job opportunities and it doesn’t cost you anything since you are a member of the IPGA.  They have hundreds of potential employees who are looking for a job.

Mark your calendar!  The IPGA will be hosting a membership outing on July 29th . We haven’t planned an outing for a few years and this one will be at the ball park. That’s right.  We will have a night at the ball park in Peoria’s Dozier Park, the home of the Peoria Chiefs. (High A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals) We have the left field picnic area reserved with a BBQ buffet and beverages. This is a Saturday night game with fireworks following the game.  More information will be coming soon so keep watching for your chance to sign up.

Last but not least Renee has been working hard to get everything ready for the rollout of our new relate website. This will switch on May 1st. Remember you need to sign up for a new account. This new site will make the process easier for the members and help the staff in processing rebates more efficiently.

That’s all I have for now remember.  If you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out to the office.  That’s what we are here for. This is your association.  Take advantage of it. I hope everyone has a fantastic May and as always be safe.

Brad
